What should I wear for my engagement session?

This seems to be where people get super overwhelmed— but you don’t need to be! Whether you’re dressing for an engagement session or for a family session, follow these tips for Pinterest worthy photos!

Don’t try to match!

Focus on only one of you wearing a pattern at a time (i.e. If you wear a floral dress, your fiancé should wear a solid shirt. If they wear a checkered shirt, you should wear a solid piece!). No matter the season, aim for light colors.

Pick outfits and accessories that coordinate instead of matching.

If you're able, wear heels! It aids in perfect posture & angles. Heels also elevate an outfit to a whole new level.

For the love of all things good, avoid athletic tennis shoes— guys, I am talking to you! This includes but is not limited to: running shoes, cleats, and New Balance “dad shoes.”

If sneakers (vans, converse, etc.) are your vibe for the casual outfit, totally fine! Just, for the love of all things good, not your Nike running shoes.

1 or 2 outfits for the session

We suggest one casual, one dressy is my suggestion! One outfit NEEDS TO BE dressy to give some variety. If you do 2, make sure to arrive wearing your casual outfit first.

I suggest you don't bring anything that is a potentially temporary style trend, such as – fanny packs, scrunchies, etc.

Wear and bring classic items that have never and most likely will never go out of style. The last thing you want to do is look back on your photos and face palm when showing your kids and grandchildren because you have on something that was only in style for that year.
